Week 54: winners

Image
First off go rams. The week was good! I got to talk to all different kinds of people and it's so cool to see and feel God's love for each and every one of them. We had an Ausstellung on Friday and oh the things I get to experience… I really was just lacking the motivation to talk to people that day and so I just stopped and started looking around (don't know if that was revelation or me just being lazy..) but this guy came up and was like what are you doing here? He was a little more than high and as we were talking he was like leaning on his bike and during our conversation he lost his balance and slowly fell, along with his bike, to the ground and it honestly was so funny and it just about killed me to not die laughing.  Despite his fall, we were able to have a pretty good conversation with him. He opened up to us a lot and told us about his life and the challenges he has. We were super bold with him and asked him if he wanted to change his life around. He told us he di...

Week 53: 1YEAR

Image
I hit my year mark last Wednesday and wow I never thought I'd make it this far! Like actually… all I can say is that God is real. There is no way I would still be out here if I didn't have him carrying me every day. It's been such a cool thing to be able to feel his guidance, presence, and strength. I am so grateful. Some highlights of the week were eating a chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream from Burger King (literally was like a chocolate melting cake.. sooo good. I don't know if they have it in the states but if they do, I highly recommend it), walking home in the rain singing at the top of our lungs, doing 3 person yoga, and just being able to find joy in little things. Life is such a blessing and I want to enjoy the little moments more!  Kind of a funny, rip of a story… so Marriott and I have been trying to brainstorm ways we can bring our cute little branch together. Everyone here loves going on walks and so we were like what if we did a walk all together!...

Week 52: what have you been drinking?

Image
Not gonna lie this week felt so long. We have been busy moving and getting into the groove of things here. We've also been getting lost a lot which has been fun. On one occasion this week a bus driver literally blocked us from getting on the bus and asked us if we had been drinking something because we got on and off like 3 times. I really don't know if he was joking around with us or not cause Germans are hard to read and usually don't really goof around but ya it was pretty funny.  We also had a book of Mormon dropoff way out in the middle of nowhere and they didn't have a bus for us to get back to the main station so we put on running shoes and decided to run back. It was a good 3 miles and it was kinda awesome not gonna lie. The bummer part of the story was that the man said he didn't order it and didn't want it. Schade 1 because little does he know this book would change his life and Schade 2 I had to run 3 miles with the book in my hand. Unfortunate. We h...

Week 51: moving...

Image
Well, the week was good and then this morning President decided to throw us a curveball and sent us scrambling. So you know how we've been covering two areas well we got the news last night that we are receiving 12 missionaries from the Ukraine mission and so now we have enough to not double cover. So we will just be in Heilbronn now which comes with a crusty old apartment wahoo. So basically today and tomorrow we are packing up and moving to the apartment there.  If you remember my first week here in this area i was struggling a bit because all the members in Heilbronn are old, single, and sad…it's a sad truth. I was able to feel better when we went to our other ward filled with families and young people that embraced us so well and made me feel better. Anyways looks like God gave me that for a little to get adjusted and now he thinks I'm ready to just be with old people. It'll be good. I'm ready to love these old ladies but honestly, I'm kinda bummed. God...

Week 50: I might have poisoned a child...

Pretty good week out here in Germany. First, Saturday felt like Christmas because I got to see some of my mission besties! And two we got new mattresses and a 2nd mirror wahoo!!  We got to have a fun little adventure this week. We were led to an address where we couldn't find the right apartment for who we were looking for. There was a girl outside tho and so we asked her and she was like yeah I don't know where that person lives. We then asked another girl and she also didn't know. We were already there though and God set us up so perfectly to teach these girls. I asked them if they had ever heard of the Book of Mormon and they hadn't and I was ready to preach but then one of them was like wait what's the last name to this girl and we told her and she was like oh that's my sister.. she didn't think it was her because she's only 16 but it was! She asked if we'd like to come in and there was the cutest little brown boy running around. He was really ...

Week 49: es sieht schön au

Image
Funny thing of the week is Sister Marriott having to pee so bad that she finally decided to just go into a ditch and go but then people kept walking by and so that didn't work so we just ran and got on a random train to use the bathroom and then got off and all was well and also somehow it made our travel time shorter so that was cool. Not so funny thing of the week is we went and got haircuts… let's just say I'm glad I have 6 and ½ months to let my hair grow back out. I really don't know what happened and all of a sudden she had cut the front of my hair real short and I was just like uhhh and then she said, "es sieht schön aus" and ya it doesn't. Now onto miracles!! This week we had more book of Mormon drop-offs and decided that we would take cookies to the members we didn't know that lived near where we had to go. One of the members we visited was from Russia and hadn't been to church in 12 years! She has been struggling with a lot of things an...

Week 48: I am old...

Image
Hey guys! Update for the week is that I am officially old! The big 20… so crazy! I had such a good birthday and felt so loved! Thank you for all the kind messages!  The week was good. I got my new comp, sister Marriott, and she is such a sweetheart. I am excited for the things we have planned. There is lots of work to do and we are about to work our butts off. We were able to go by a man's house this week and drop off a book of mormon. He was so cool and invited us in and we were able to sit down and talk about what he's searching for. He told us there was a time where he didn't believe there was a God and that he lost him but that he's trying to find him again. He reads his Bible a lot and is excited to read the Book of Mormon with it. It was so cool to see the excitement he had about how they go hand in hand. We are going back this week to teach him again and I'm super excited!!  I can't believe it's 2022. This week I have been trying to figure out what ...
