Week 20: VIENNA AUSTRIA

Image
Hello from Vienna, Austria!!    It really doesn't feel real that I am here. Thursday we got all packed and headed out! Repacking my bags was not fun and I'm grateful that I don't have to worry about having to weigh them for a hot minute. Thursday night we stayed at a cute little hostile in Munich! There is no ac here and it's so hot! We have to wear a certain kind of mask here and I can't breathe! Wow, I sound dramatic haha but ya it's a struggle.    Friday we got up, ate some breakfast, and walked to the church. There, we listened to a couple of talks and then got to figure out who our comps were and where we were going. I was very excited! They had a cute PowerPoint that pulled up a picture of the area and the comp there and then the comp would talk about their area and try to make it sound like the best thing ever. we then would do a drum roll and they would say who was going there and we would all cheer! And then the new missionary would go up and introduc...

Time for the weekly update, y'all ready? This week has been pretty much a vacation. Haha, never thought that I'd have a vacation on the mish but here we are. I am still in Croatia in "quarantine", and if y'all ever have to quarantine I would definitely recommend doing it like this! This week included a lot of German, studies, missionaries, and the beautiful city of Zagreb!  To give you an idea, this is kinda a sample of our daily schedule.  6:30: Work out and get ready  8: Breakfast at the hotel, which is so good!! They have the best croissants I have ever had.   9-12: German Class! It's been overwhelming but good and I'm learning a lot! Also shout out to the Frankfurt District, who gave our teacher (she isn't a member) a Croatian Book of Mormon and have been teaching her the lessons! 12-4: Go out and explore Zagreb! Get some lunch which normally includes a bakery and Gelato and a container of strawberries. The strawberries here are seriously my favo...

Week 18: Croatia Baby

I really don't know where to begin honestly… this week has been the craziest. Let's start out by saying bye to my Mendenhall family. So sad to be leaving them. They seriously are some of the best people I have ever met. God seriously knew exactly what I needed and I feel so grateful to have met the people I did and become so close with them. Mendenhall will forever have a place in my heart.                                  ( Wednesday Sister Jaster dropped me off at the sister missionaries' house and we had to say goodbye which was the worst. I love her so much. The German sisters and I all stayed there that night and didn't sleep hardly at all due to excitement and an uncomfortable couch and the next day around 1 got taken to the airport. And this is where the real adventure began. I'll try to keep it short but oh man it was rough. So we get there and get our bags checked and one of the Sisters'...

Week 17: Germany!!

This week was a wild one! I woke up Friday morning to an email with my flight itinerary to Germany!!! The best way to wake up for sure! I leave this Thursday!! I am actually getting to go to Croatia first to quarantine and then off to my mission! So I'll keep yall updated on how that goes! Crazy to think that next week I will be in a whole different country!!  We had zone conference this week and it was amazing! We talked a lot about how to teach with the spirit and be bold. I loved being able to hear from our leaders and other missionaries. Being in a room full of missionaries has so much power! It is so cool and I am so grateful that I get to be a part of it. After zone conference, we got to go bowling with all of us and it was a blast. The first game I kicked everyone's trash and 2nd game I bowled a solid 56… don't know how that happened haha.  To top off such an amazing week we had Ashley's Baptism on Saturday. Seriously such a happy day! It has been a long time c...
