Sister Addison Hunt, Alpine German Speaking Mission

  Hey ya'll! I really don't even know where to begin. So much has happened! Saying bye to my family was rough. They are seriously the best and I miss them already. Super grateful that I get to go to work tho! Lowkey has been the longest week ever but has also been sooo good! We got to Baton Rouge midday Tuesday and my adventure began. A lot of stuff has happened this week and I have so much to say but I'll just bullet point a few things and tell a few stories… It is so humid, I can barely breathe President Amos is so awesome Sister Amos makes the best cinnamon rolls I have ever had My companion is named Sister Jaster and she is seriously sooo amazing They call bathroom breaks, bayou breaks We had to shelter inside because there was a tornado warning The house we live in is full of cockroaches (grosssss) I thought I just had to learn german but I definitely need the gift of tongues here too.   Can you even believe that I am in the last week of MTC? Ya me either… It has literally zoomed by. I leave in 6 days and am honestly super nervous, excited, scared, happy, sad… so basically right back to the beginning of feeling all of the emotions.  On Thursday in class I honestly couldn’t tell ya what we were learning because one of the Elders told us he had gotten his reassignment! I know I had a bad missionary moment, I should've been listening… whoops. Slowly throughout class everyone started to get their reassignments and I think I probably refreshed my email about 100 times. Right as class ended I went into my dad to tell him that I was probably going to get mine today and as we were talking my phone started ringing. I answered and it was my stake secretary calling to tell me that he had my reassignment! He told me that I was going to BATON ROUGE, LOUISIANA!!   Today is my month mark of being a missionary! So wild!  Yesterday I got to meet up with some of my district. It was so weird to see them in person after 4 weeks of only seeing them through a screen. We played lots of games and it was so fun to get to know them better!  Stefan is the coolest. He’s the guy that we have been teaching in German and this week we wanted to challenge him to start reading in the Book of Mormon. We decided we’d teach him a little bit about Joseph Smith. As we were teaching him we got to the part where Jesus and Heavenly Father appeared to Joseph in the Sacred Grove. At this point of the lesson Stefan threw his glasses off his face and goes, “ WOOOOAAH das ist wie ein UFO!!” In English that means that is like a UFO! My comp and I just started giggling a little bit and really didn’t know what to say to that. It was so funny.
