Week 24: the hills are alive

Image
The Abbey! Hey guys! I hope you guys had such a great week! I honestly feel like I'm constantly writing these things so hopefully, you don't get too bored of them haha.  Way cool experience this week! We had a call with one of the ladies in our ward and she told us that people would come to us and want to know about our church. I kinda laughed because the people here go as far away as they can from us it seems. Anyways on the train that day a guy came and sat right across from us and we said hello and he started talking to us and asking what we believed in!! We got to tell him and then he said he would love to know more. That seriously never happens. We had a super cool lesson with him on Saturday and guys… you'll never guess what happened! I actually understood what was going on and was a part of the lesson! That was the first time I walked out of a lesson and actually felt like I knew what he was saying and could answer!! Highlight for sure. I seriously don't know how...

Week 23: Fleisch schwitzt

Hel lo Everyone! This week was so good! It was full of laughs and blessings and I'm just so grateful to be a missionary!! I had such a funny day on Saturday so I thought I'd share. It started out with all the missionaries here in Wien getting together and playing soccer which was a blast. We also played at a park and one of the german elders was trying to do this slackline thing and totally split the rope and landed so hard on it and I started dying laughing. He got up real fast and just ran off and it was so funny. Also, one of the elders was getting spinned on this like wheel type thing and totally flew off and landed on his head and I once again died. To finish the day off we got invited to a meal appointment with the elders we share the ward with. The guy who was feeding us brought out two plates that had so much of this meatloaf-looking stuff on it that I about cried. One of them had way more than the other but they were both loaded and I just prayed he didn't give me ...

Week 22: die beste antwort

Welcome back to the weekly! We had a crazy week with so many miracles and blessings!    Aight story time!! Every week we have a meal appointment with this cute little old couple and this week they surprised us with some matching pants. Super sweet of them. They wanted us to try them on right then. We wore them all through the appointment and then didn't want to be rude and change so we wore them all the way back to our apartment… it was sooo funny. We were wearing shirts that clashed pretty bad with them and on top of that we had our dress shoes on... let's just say our pants turned more heads than our name tags usually do. And that's a lot haha I'll make sure to send the photo so yall don't miss out.    We had zone conference this week! And guess what your girl had to do! My favoritest thing ever!! I had to give a talk… Yes, another one! That's two weeks in a row! I thought since I gave one last week I would be safe for at least a little but nope! I can't...

Week 21: smiles and nods

Image
Hello Everyone!!  This week consisted of lots of smiling and nodding haha. I think I've almost mastered the skill of trying to look like I know what's going on when I really have no clue.  I got to have a little bit of an adventure from Thursday to Saturday! My comp and the other STL here in Vienna had MLC in Munich which left me and Sister Middleton here in Vienna to fend for ourselves. We both at that point had been here for a week and ya it was kinda awesome. We went out and saw some cool places here and we didn't get lost on the public transport!! So basically were locals haha I've never been so grateful for Google maps. We also tried to give out some pass-along cards with the little German we have and it was funny. We were able to give out 2! The first guy that took it didn't speak German or English. He actually spoke Persian and so I think he took it so we would stop trying to talk to him but it was a win for us. And the 2nd one we gave out we just slyly dro...
