Week 42: speechless

Image
What's up guys! Your girl is back and idk why my weekly's have just been getting so long.. sorry bout it! If you're reading this right now you are amazing and I love you.  The week was pretty decent. Last pday my comp got hit in the head with a ball when we were playing dodgeball with our zone and probably got concussed so we had to take it pretty slow. If you know me you know I got lots of energy and am not very good at sitting still for too long so ya there was that and also it's freezing here so it's not very fun to be outside. Despite that though I have some cool stories to report.  One of the days we were out on the street and we passed this house and on the door, it had a cute little Willkommen sign. My comp and I both pointed at it at the same time and we're like yep we're knocking this door. A guy answered and starting conversations is always a lil awkward so my comp goes, we saw the sign on your door and it said welcome so here we are! The guy jus...

Week 41: smuggled into Germany

Your city girl is no longer a city girl and it's weird... I'm not used to seeing the sky and so many trees! My new areas are called Ludwigsburg and Heilbronn. Heilbronn is a branch and Ludwigsburg is a ward and we get to cover both of them because of the lack of missionaries here so that's fun. The last couple of days have been an adventure for sure but hey I made it over the border and I'm glad to be here! Wednesday and Thursday we had mission conference and it was amazing. It was so fun to see all my friends again and to learn so many things. Elder Alliaud of the 70 came and spoke to us and it was so cool! That man is so funny and it was amazing to learn from him. We talked a lot about the Book of Mormon and it was a good reminder of how powerful it is. This book is the way people are converted. If you want a testimony or to deepen your conversion ding ding ding start reading the book of Mormon! I promise it will change your life. It is not just a book about the rod...

Week 40: bye bye wien:((

Hii!  This week was packed with appointments and I am exhausted. We literally ran from appointment to appointment and it was crazy. One of our appointments went a lil wild.. it was with an investigator and she told us last minute it was her birthday and that a couple other people were coming as well. Well, these couple of other people brought hookah and were smoking it right into our faces. It wasn't my most favoritest thing ever. My comp was very on edge and when the lady asked if she wanted some cola she straight up asked if it had alcohol in it. So funny.  Johanna The quote you don't know what you got until it's gone is hitting me hard this week! I'm so sad to be leaving my Wien family. I have learned so much and grown so much in my time here and I am forever grateful for the memories I've made. Looking back at the time I've had here is seriously crazy. I struggled soooo bad in the beginning and thought I would never love it here and now that I'm leavin...

Week 39: tracting! And ET?

Image
Being on a mission is a roller coaster let me tell ya… some days are just the best and others ya not so much but hard things make us stronger if we let them and that is something I am grateful for.  So I basically got told yesterday that I am being ET'd in a week!!! I am so sad about it! I was almost positive I was gonna be transferred but I was expecting to at least finish out the transfer. Anyways I've basically been living here in Austria illegally for about 3 months.. I don't have any visa and they're basically gonna have to sneak me over the border so that's kinda scary… don't know what's gonna happen because I also don't have a German visa and ya it's just a big mess. Pray, I don't get deported! On Thursday we finally had a free afternoon with no appointments, so we decided to stop by some less active members. The first one wasn't there so we wrote him a note and then decided since we were already let into the building that we would t...

Week 38: audi and tesla

Hey guys! Another crazy busy week here in Wien! I feel like I'm always just writing weekly's looking back and not knowing where the week went! Wild! So everyone here gives you slippers when you visit them so your feet don't get cold. Kinda nice not gonna lie. This week at an appointment I was walking out the door and the family just started laughing at me and I had no idea why. I thought maybe I didn't understand a German joke or something and my head was thinking of all the possibilities. They pointed at my feet and I was still wearing the slippers hahaha just forgot my shoes all together whoops!  On the train yesterday we sat across from this guy and asked him how he was and he actually responded (sometimes people will just look at us and it's real awkward…) on top of that he responded in English! We started talking to him and when he asked us our first names we told him Addi and Tessa and he was so surprised and we got confused and then found out that he though...

Week 37: don't let us cut your hair...

Image
Hey guys! Welcome back to another amazing week here in Vienna! I hope you all had the greatest week and were able to feel God's love because he loves you!!  For my fun little adventure this week I pretty much just made a fool of myself... So we were street-finding and I went up to this group of like 3 and asked them if I could ask a question and right as I finished that sentence a huge bug flew right into my eye! I have no idea what they responded because I was just a bit distracted and so I just awkwardly pointed at my eye and ran off to get some help. It definitely wasn't my most gracious moment and I'm sure I gave them a good laugh. Luckily my eye is okay but my confidence.. not so much. Also, we got asked to cut this cute little lady's hair and ya I don't know why she asked us but we did it and it was a mistake… I cut one of the sides and I did pretty good not gonna lie but then my comp did the other side and cut it sooooo short!! We had to even it out and it ...
