Week 49: es sieht schön au

Funny thing of the week is Sister Marriott having to pee so bad that she finally decided to just go into a ditch and go but then people kept walking by and so that didn't work so we just ran and got on a random train to use the bathroom and then got off and all was well and also somehow it made our travel time shorter so that was cool. Not so funny thing of the week is we went and got haircuts… let's just say I'm glad I have 6 and ½ months to let my hair grow back out. I really don't know what happened and all of a sudden she had cut the front of my hair real short and I was just like uhhh and then she said, "es sieht schön aus" and ya it doesn't.

Now onto miracles!! This week we had more book of Mormon drop-offs and decided that we would take cookies to the members we didn't know that lived near where we had to go. One of the members we visited was from Russia and hadn't been to church in 12 years! She has been struggling with a lot of things and I know God sent us to her just when she needed us. We connected really quickly and I'm excited to see her redevelop her relationship with God. Another member we visited told us she had served a mission but in the last 40 years, she has gone through some things and just can't believe what she used to. She hadn't even let missionaries in for more than 10 years but for some reason, she let us in and we were able to share an uplifting message and hopefully get her thinking about all the good that God is and does for us.

I had one of the most powerful lessons of my entire mission on Sunday. Little back story.. a couple weeks ago we were with one of our friends and went and got Bubble tea together. The worker was so cute and we told her a little about what we do here and gave her our card. She texted us right after her shift and we have been talking with her for a while. On Friday we told her we would be in town the next day and asked if she would like to meet up and she didn't respond.. then on Saturday she responded and was like ya I'll meet you guys at church at 9.30! We were shocked and even more shocked when she actually came! After the meeting, we went into another room and started talking about what she believed. She is from China and told us about how the people there really don't believe in anything. She told us she doesn't have any belief in anything. I've never taught anyone who doesn't believe in anything but it was so cool. We started talking about how there is a God and that he loves us and cares for us and wants us to be happy. We then explained how we can pray to him to know if he is actually there. We asked her if she would like to try and pray and she did. It was the most tender thing I've ever heard. She started and like introduced herself to god and then just told him what was in her heart and at the end we were all in tears. She looked at me and then just gave me the biggest hug. The spirit was so strong and we told her that what she was feeling was from God and all she could do was shake her head and cry. Soooo cool.

I love being a missionary. The things I get to experience are just indescribable. It's crazy to me how fast people open up to us and just tell us exactly how they feel. Or that people just invite us into their homes and then just sit and listen to what we have to say. There's no other explanation than that this is God's work and he uses us to make it happen. I am grateful for the love he has for me and that I get to see and feel his love for others even when they can't see it. He loves you don't forget it.
