Week 16: WARNING...tornado?

Image
Great week here!! This week was our first week not having to wear masks! We had a meeting with President and he said if we're vaccinated we don't have to wear them! Blessings!! I seriously am so sick of masks. Lowkey they came in clutch sometimes though because a lot of people here are interesting haha and say interesting things and sometimes I just can't help but laugh and with a mask on you could never tell! so we'll see how that goes… so far I've been doing good. On Tuesday we went over to the salon to finish up the lessons with Ashley. When we were there we started hearing a siren go off and we were so confused because it didn't sound like an ambulance or a police car. Turns out it was the sirens for a tornado warning! Sister Jaster and I had never heard those before and started freaking out a little. We asked if we should go get in the bathtub or something and everyone in the salon was laughing at us! Guess it wasn't a big deal but it sure freaked me ...

Week 15: Germany??

Heyyyy hope y'all are doing so good!! Good things going on down here in the Sip. First off… get ready… My girl Ashley is getting baptized on the 29th!! A long time coming but she is so ready. I've mentioned her before in previous emails but a quick recap. She's the best and has such a strong testimony. She has been meeting with the missionaries for a long time and the missionary that was here right before me kinda didn't mesh so well with Ashley so they stopped meeting but since I've been here we have been able to get to work and it has been amazing! I feel like Ashley is another reason that I was supposed to be here in Mississippi! God is sooo good and I am beyond excited for Ashley! Second… I have a story for y'all. We have been doing phone lessons with a guy named Yves (pronounced eve) and we introduced the book of Mormon. He said he would love one so we went and dropped one-off. That was an experience. Let me tell ya hahaha he is a goofy guy. Let me set the ...

Helloooo! Hope y'all had the greatest week ever! First I'd like to say happy mothers day to all you moms out there! Especially grateful for my beautiful mom. She is seriously the best mom I could ever ask for. She makes me so excited to be a mom and I hope I can be half the mom that she is to my future family.  Saturday was the big day for our guy Ernest!! So all week we got to prepare for that. We had to go to our church and scrub the font and that took us like 2 hours because it hasn't been used for over a year and there was a lot of dust and spiders and it was kinda nasty but we were happy to do it! We called like every person in our branch and invited them to come to support Ernest and lots of people said they would come so we were way excited about that. Saturday came and about 5 people showed up so that was sad but also kind of expected… People here are very flaky but the important thing is that Ernest was happy and he was sooo happy!! It was so cool to be able to b...

Week 13: Jesus is in Alabama?

Image
Today marks my 3 months of being a missionary!!! So crazy to think about. I have learned so much and have grown so much. I am so grateful to be a missionary!! This week we met a girl named Brianna and she is so cute! She has very little knowledge about any religion and just wants to come closer to Christ. She bought a Bible and asked if we could help her study it! We are gonna be meeting with her every Tuesday and Thursday and we are super excited!!  In one of our Bible studies, this week Sister Jaster was saying something about how amazing it will be when Jesus comes to the earth again. And the lady cut her off and said, "Comes back??" And then goes, "Honey Jesus is on the earth… He's in Alabama!" We both were caught off guard and did our best to not bust out laughing. The lady then goes off for about 20 minutes telling us stories about Jesus being in Alabama and it was very entertaining, to say the least. I seriously never know what people here are gonna say...

Week 12: Lassoed

Hey everyone! Hope you all had a great week!  This week was sooo good! We got our 2nd covid shot and that was quite an adventure… we had to drive clear to Brandon because our small-town didn't have the shot available go figure. One of the elders asked us to go to the Jackson Elders apartment to grab something he had left and that was kinda scary because it's pretty sketch down there. They don't allow sisters to serve there and so we were a bit nervous hahahaha but all is good we got what we needed and only saw a little fight happen.  The 2nd shot put us down for a day. We woke up the next morning and both didn't feel good at all so that was rough but I'm feeling much better now thank goodness. Also, the best thing ever happened! We have been doing service and teaching this guy named Ernest. I actually met him my 2nd day here in the mish. He is so sweet and always has propels laid out for us when we go over there haha so cute. Anyways we had a lesson with him on T...
