Week 39: tracting! And ET?
Being on a mission is a roller coaster let me tell ya… some days are just the best and others ya not so much but hard things make us stronger if we let them and that is something I am grateful for.
So I basically got told yesterday that I am being ET'd in a week!!! I am so sad about it! I was almost positive I was gonna be transferred but I was expecting to at least finish out the transfer. Anyways I've basically been living here in Austria illegally for about 3 months.. I don't have any visa and they're basically gonna have to sneak me over the border so that's kinda scary… don't know what's gonna happen because I also don't have a German visa and ya it's just a big mess. Pray, I don't get deported! On Thursday we finally had a free afternoon with no appointments, so we decided to stop by some less active members. The first one wasn't there so we wrote him a note and then decided since we were already let into the building that we would try to knock on some doors! I have never knocked doors on my mission and we were both super nervous but we did it and ya no one answered but we did try so that was cool. The second lady we tried to visit was there but wouldn't ring us in because she had apparently just gotten out of the "bath" we told her we could come back and she told us not to so that kinda sucked but hey at least she knows we care! The third lady we visited was so cute and so excited to see us and made us some hot chocolate and we were able to share a message with her and it was awesome! Then we were able to stop by a referral that wanted a book of Mormon. We rang the door and a lady answered and we asked her if we had the right apartment. She told us yes and that her husband had ordered the book but wasn't home. She then asked if we wanted to come in and we were shocked and of course, said yes! We sat down in the living room and man that apartment was loaded with a bunch of people and they all just came in and sat and we taught them the 1st lesson right then and there! It was the coolest thing ever! When I imagined being on a mission I pictured doing the things we did that day and it was cool to actually live a day like it!
It's so cool to see how the lord works. He truly knows each of us and cares about every single thing we care about. He is there when we are happy and there when we are sad. He is constantly helping us and directing us. I am so grateful to feel his hand in my life every day. I love missionary work and all the amazing adventures I get to have. This is his work.
