Week 73: oh the omas

Another great week here in Deutschland! I got to eat some rotten fruit, and fruit salad, got my weekly dose of cat hair, and every single one of our appointments was with German Omas so get ready haha.

Wednesday we tried to go help an old lady clean her house, but after some not complete directions and a whole lot of yelling, it didn't work out. While we were at the banhof waiting for her, this sweet old lady came up to us, we both thought she was the lady we were supposed to be helping so we walked up to her. She greeted us with the kindest smile, saw that our tags said Jesu Christi, and gave us the biggest hug. Then she went and got her newspaper and left. She definitely was NOT the lady we were looking for, but definitely was the reason we were there.

Saturday we went street-finding and I was just not feeling it. It was hot, I hadn't slept too well, and I just felt tired. I walked into it giving myself a pep talk tho and thinking to myself you only have 4 more of these so push through. We were able to talk with this firey old oma named Annalise and she was just a spitfire; cracking jokes, cussing at people under her breath, and had no filter at all. It was amazing (definitely made me miss my no filter, spit-fire grandma). We talked for a good while and were able to give her a plan of salvation pamphlet. She looked at the picture on it and was like I love this picture (it's the one of christ coming out of the tomb). She then looked up at us, then back at the picture, and then at us again and told us that we looked like him. She said you guys have the same light. My heart about melted and I got a good chastisement of what I get to do here and how much I'm going to miss speaking with these people on the street telling them about Jesus Christ and being able to give them light. I walked away in tears thinking about how I only have 3 more Austellungs and how much I'm going to miss them. I'm grateful that God is always changing and softening my heart. I'm also very grateful that I get to represent the S
avior who brings so much light into my life.

Love you guys! Have a great week and go share that light of yours!
