Week 67: one I'll never forget

What a freaking week guys. Kid you not, one of my favoritest past 3 days. God is just too good and has just been giving us the coolest miracles. Definitely don't know what I've done to deserve them but I am grateful.

So one of them started off last week when we had to cancel our lesson with a guy named Prakhar because we were stuck in Germany and wouldn't have made it back in time. We rescheduled for this Saturday and planned to meet at a place near our apartment. On our way he called us and was like the church is locked.. we were real confused because we had talked about meeting at the other place and ya we were like well looks like we're going to the church! We were stressing tho because he only had time from 7-7:30 and we rolled up to the church at like 7:20. We ran up and he wasn't outside so we walked in and found him and a recent convert in there talking. Apparently, the member just happened to walk by and saw our friend waiting and let him in! The member also asked if he could join in our lesson and we gladly accepted. In preparation for this lesson we seriously had no ideas on what we should teach him like none. Usually, we can get an idea but nope nothing... it was our first time meeting with him as well so he informed us what the other sisters had taught him so we kinda had an idea of what he knew and then he just started shooting questions at us. He is from India and had lots of questions about Hinduism related to our church and ya we did not have answers but the member WHO JUST HAPPENED to walk by and BE IN OUR LESSON was ALSO from India and had had all of the same questions when he first was learning about the church. He just took right over and it was the coolest thing to see this new convert baring his testimony, answering all the questions, and connecting so well with our friend. It was literally so cool. Before we knew it it was 9! This man had stayed an extra hour and a half! The lesson was amazing and the best part is we barely even talked. We walked out literally just in awe of what happened. Like 1 we were supposed to meet last week and it just happened to not work out making us meet this week at the church even though we had planned somewhere else and that made us late making it where the member saw the guy and let him in and then had time to stay for the lesson where he had all the same experiences and answers and is also from India (let me add I think these 2 are the only people I've met here from India) and ya just wow tell me God isn't in the details. AMAZING.

And then on Sunday, we had one of the coolest, most humbling experiences of my entire mission. So one of my amazing mission sons Elder Bigelow (formerly assigned to the Ukraine mission) found a Ukrainian girl on a train on his way to his next area and gave her a Book of Mormon and got her number. He asked us to go visit her and see her situation and see if there was anything we could help her out with. The only problem is she didn't speak German or English so we were just banking on Elder Bigelow to translate. We got there and Elder Bigelow didn't answer... this lady came out and started going off in Ukrainian and we just smiled and handed her the cookies we had brought and prayed Elder Bigelow would call. He did after a hot minute of trying to understand what this girl was saying and translated for us and we kinda got to know each other. Her situation is the saddest, her husband was just killed in one of the mass murderings in Ukraine and she has literally nothing. When Elder Bigelow hung up she just looked at us and it reminded me of 3 nephi 17 where Jesus said he could see that the people longed for him to stay. We couldn't speak to her or anything but we stayed. She Google translated that the memorial for her husband was earlier that day and started showing us pictures. My heart ached for this poor lady and I couldn't do anything but just hold her while she sobbed. Through Google translate, I asked if we could say a prayer with her. She accepted and while she uncontrollably sobbed I clung to her, pleading for this woman to receive some sort of comfort as my comp prayed. During the prayer, I felt something I literally can't describe. It was almost as if something like came over both of us and at the exact moment I felt it, she stopped crying. I literally physically felt something and just couldn't help but think of Jesus Christ putting his arms around us and saying, "I've got you and I won't let go." I seriously will never forget that experience. It was a heavenly moment.

These two experiences really have just opened my eyes to the fact that we don't have to say anything because the spirit will say everything. We simply just need to be there for people and show we care and that we love them. I also know for a fact that Jesus Christ can comfort anyone, even in the worst situation. He has been there, he knows how bad it hurts, and that's why he can comfort us in the exact way we need. And lastly, I know that there is power in prayer even when it's in a language you don't know. I am so grateful for Jesus Christ and the comfort he gives.

Pray, be there for people, and let the spirit guide.
