Week 66: sleeping at the church

Hallo zäme! A good week out here in der Schweiz! Heads up the first paragraph is pretty long so if you don't read it I'm not offended I just had to include it for the mems..

GOD IS GOOD! Alrighty, I'll try and keep this story short but coming home from MLC was an adventure and took like over 6 hours. First off, we missed our tram to Munich Bahnhof and initially didn't think it was a big deal and just waited for the next one. The only problem was the next one was 10 minutes late and got us to Munich Bahnhof at 16:51 (on the bottom floor of Bahnhof) and our train to Zurich was at 16:52. (on platform 27, top floor)  Then to make matters worse the next train to Zurich wasn't till 18:52. We really didn't want to wait 2 hours in Munich, so on the tram, we decided we at least had to try. As we pulled into Bahnhof it was 16:51, but we prayed, and as the doors opened we sprinted. Don't know how but we made the train!! There is no way we should've made it but we did! Big miracle! God wanted us on that train too because all of us missionaries sat with 3 random people and we got all of their numbers and had such good conversations! Also, it was just one of the best train rides ever! I haven't laughed so much in a long time! I was in a weird mood too and looking back I think wow that was these people's first interaction with missionaries. We had them laughing so hard tho so I'm hoping it was a good one and they don't think we're crazy. We made it to Zurich and we were wrecked. We headed to the apartment and then realized that our comps had the keys and they were all the way in Singen… we were not about to travel to Singen. So this began the process of us attempting to break into our apartment. We tried picking locks, going through windows, and even climbing a wall and through bushes to get to the back door. Good news: our apartment is pretty safe and we could not get in. After many calls, we learned of a spare key in a lockbox at the church, but no one knew the code. So we go to the church and I begin trying every code starting at 0000... ngl, I was ready to call it quits at like 0050 and just sleep at the church. But again God is so good and someone we called knew the code. It was a tender moment opening that lockbox and seeing that spare key! Definitely didn't get in anywhere close to 9:30 but we did get in so I'll call that a win. Sorry, that was long haha.

We had a lesson this week where God just straight took over. It was with a frau that has been meeting with missionaries on and off since 2018. She knows a lot but we found out she's never actually prayed about the Book of Mormon. We read in it together and then invited her to pray and the spirit was just so strong as we were testifying and it was amazing. Also, way cool because like I can speak German but I still have to focus on what I'm saying and stuff but in this lesson, I totally forgot we were even speaking German and it was the coolest thing ever. So many words I didn't even know I knew came out and it was so cool to just feel like I was a tool God was working through.

The theme of MLC was spiritual endurance and I loved it! Here are just a few things to think about:
-Don't wish things away. Control what you can and know that the Lord is in charge.
-Lengthen your stride, Quicken your pace, and Do it.
-Life's happiness is on the move
-Well doing is the key to happiness
-Power comes with speed
-Are you moving?
-Do the small things to build your endurance- family scripture study, FHE, personal prayer.
-Take compassionate detours.
-Start now!

I definitely have seen that I'm the happiest when I'm up, moving, and trying to help people the best I can. The Lord strengthens us and we can make it to the end as we rely on him!

Get up, get going, and have a great week!

Love you guys!
