Week 45: I must be a hard comp...
Okay, miracle time! We were walking outside with one of our friends and I saw this lady carrying cookies. I don't know why but I pointed her out and just said something about the cookies and then we kept walking. Like 45 minutes later as we were getting on our train we saw her from a ways away get on the same train. My comp and I have a rule that if we see the same person twice we have to talk to them but she was far away so we just got on where we were and sat down. I think God didn't like that we didn't go talk to her because like 5 minutes into our ride my comp goes look to your right and the cookie lady was standing right next to me. I didn't really think and just said hi and the first thing that came to my head was to ask her about what the cookies were for. So that's exactly what I did but the thing is she was standing next to me because she was waiting for the bathroom and she didn't have her cookies with her… she looked around herself and then back at me.. I panicked for half a second not knowing what she was gonna say but she was so nice and didn't think anything about it! blessing hahaha. She told us about the cookies and then out of nowhere started talking about how she loves reading spiritual books. We told her about the Book of Mormon and she was shocked when we told her she could have one for free! Her last sentence to us was that she goes to a church but feels like there's more that it doesn't have and that maybe this book will give her answers. Like what!! Oh and then another bonus she walked back to her seat and then brought us some cookies. Literal angel!
At distriktsrat yesterday we got asked what we have learned these past 6 weeks. The first thing that came to my mind is that Jesus Christ magnifies our efforts. He can turn an awkward conversation where the lady probably thought I had been stalking her into an amazing conversation where she walked away with hope and the book that will change her life. He can take a broken German testimony and carry it into the heart of a grumpy old German man. He can literally take whatever we can give him and make it enough. I know he's here with me doing his work. He leads and guides me every day and all he asks of us is to give him what we can. He will do the rest, he makes us enough.
Through him I know I am enough. And so are you! Use him because that's why he's there! He will never disappoint.
