Week 31: ELDER BEDNAR

 This week was amazing!!! I was able to see so many tender mercies and was overwhelmed by the spirit and it was just the best! Sorry, it's a long one, I just have so many things to tell!


My mission
Crazy encounter of the week: we were walking to the church and this guy started yelling at us in German. He asked if we would go on a date with him and when we told him no, he started yelling that he wasn't tall enough and he doesn't have a degree and that he wants to know why everyone rejects him. We told him we were missionaries and he was like woah I'm Christian too! Anyway, we had an interesting conversation with him and during it, his nose started bleeding because he had apparently just done a line of coke… we encouraged him to stop doing that haha and he told us that he would stop if we texted him! I count that as a win! Probably the most interesting invitation I've ever given on the mish but hey maybe he'll have a change of heart.


Sister Carter 
This weekend was amazing and so full of the spirit and miracles! We got to go down to Stuttgart for a mission conference with Elder Bednar!! We left on Friday and traveled for a good part of the day! We were on a huge charter bus with a bunch of missionaries and it was a blast. We were running late and ended up getting there with only 15 minutes left of street finding. I was determined to give out the book of Mormon I had brought and written my testimony in, so me and Sister Carter hit the streets. The second guy we talked to accepted the book!! It was way cool because me and Sister Carter probably have the same level of Deutsch but we were able to have a good conversation with him and bear our testimonies! He walked away with a book of Mormon in one hand and a cigarette in the other and we walked away feeling like the shiz because we gave out a book of Mormon in like 5 minutes and spoke German the whole time! Shout out to having faith, being led by the spirit, and having the gift of tongues!! We still had like 10 minutes left so we grabbed another book of Mormon and the first person we talked to accepted it!! Guys this doesn't happen! hahaha, I think God is trying to make me like street finding or something.. Just goes to show that when we have faith and open our mouths the Lord will provide. 


The rest of that night was awesome and we got to hear from president Naatjes and Sister Naatjes and the spirit was just literally so strong. I just sat there feeling so grateful and just so happy! After that we walked to the hotel we were staying at and as we walked through the city there were a bunch of people just jamming to music and having a good time. I couldn't help but start dancing and a couple of people in a group started like pointing and dancing along so one of the elders and I danced our way over to them and ended up giving them a book of Mormon. Kinda legendary if you ask me. Danced my way into giving someone a book of Mormon! A win for sure!!

Now for the best thing ever! Being in the presence of an apostle of the lord was seriously such a cool feeling. I felt so much peace and comfort and just straight joy. It made me think of how it will be when we get to be in the presence of our Savior and how amazing that day will be. I learned so much and honestly don't even know what to share. He told us to not write down what he shared but what came to our hearts through the spirit. It was so cool to let the spirit in and truly speak to me. We all are so different and need different things and as we seek and ask and knock, we can find exactly what we need. I am grateful for personal revelation and for the opportunity to be able to help people ask for themselves. It's definitely one of my favorite things about the gospel, that we get to come to know the Savior for ourselves. I am excited to continue learning more about our Savior and all that he has done for us. President Bednar promised that as we come to know him that we will be armed with the power of godliness and I know that that promise is for you all too. I challenge you all to study about him this week and come to know him better. :))

  Servus! I hope you all had an amazing week:)) I had a wild one and it was awesome!! Also, this one's kinda long so sorry bout it.  I had a funny German whoops this week. I have them at least 5 times a day but this one made me laugh. We were at a members house and the last time we were there she gave us some coupons and so I was telling her that we used them to buy some things but instead of saying bought (gekauft) I said getauft which means baptized hahaha guess that's just what's on my mind… anyways kinda funny thought I'd share. Week 39: tracting! And ET?

  Being on a mission is a roller coaster let me tell ya… some days are just the best and others ya not so much but hard things make us stronger if we let them and that is something I am grateful for.  So I basically got told yesterday that I am being ET'd in a week!!! I am so sad about it! I was almost positive I was gonna be transferred but I was expecting to at least finish out the transfer. Anyways I've basically been living here in Austria illegally for about 3 months.. I don't have any visa and they're basically gonna have to sneak me over the border so that's kinda scary… don't know what's gonna happen because I also don't have a German visa and ya it's just a big mess. Pray, I don't get deported! On Thursday we finally had a free afternoon with no appointments, so we decided to stop by some less active members. Week 11: Life is Good

  Hey y'all!! We had zone conference this week and oh man it was too good. We talked a lot about giving it our all out here on the mission. We only get this experience once and so we need to give it 100%. I loved hearing all of the missionaries talk about their experiences and it made me remotivated to keep working hard and doing my best every day! We also had exchanges this week which was super fun! I got to go to Madison Mississippi for a day! They actually have stores and restaurants and stuff… very different than our small town here in Mendenhall.  Kinda a silly story for y'all… we were walking to a member's house and this boy was walking right behind us and slowly caught up to us and so we said hi and he had a very thick accent so we didn't really know what he was saying.
