Week 29: 3 areas??
Hey guys! It was a wild week for sure and if I'm being honest… I'm glad it's over!
Wednesday we dropped off sister chandler and it was real sad:(( I miss her lots! When missionaries leave here all the missionaries in the area come to the train station and say goodbyes and then run with the train as far as we can until it takes off. Kinda fun! There is 5 sets of elders here in Wien and 2 sets of sisters. 4 sets of elders came to send sister chandler off and the sisters didn't end up coming which meant when sister chandler left I was 1 sister among 9 elders… apparently the sisters didn't know I was gonna be with them and so just didn't bother coming. We called them and they started their way over but in the meantime I got to be in a trio with some elders for a good 2 hours which was kinda crazy.. I finally got picked up and the crazy began. From Wednesday to Sunday we got to cover 3 areas which was a lot a bit crazy. We went from lesson to lesson to lesson and basically just ran all over Wien. Quite the little adventure!
Some funny memories of the week are: in our district council we were doing a get to know you game and we played two truths and a lie. My lie was that I've been swimming with stingrays and one of the german elders goes, "who's stingray" he thought stingray was a person and we all died laughing hahaha! I love when Germans make English mistakes because it makes me feel better about all my German mistakes. Also, Johanna (one of our friends here) started calling me her crazy chicken and I have no idea why but it makes me laugh. Anyways if you know me you know I love laughing so stuff like that makes me happy so I thought I'd share.
We got to meet with the guy I talked about in my last email and it went good! He still believes in the gospel and is committed to start reading the book of Mormon again. As we were talking I realized that he knew what was right but had stopped doing the little things that were keeping him on the right track. Throughout this week I have been thinking about how simple the gospel is and how all we have to do is keep doing the little things. Pray. Read your scriptures. Have more faith. Serve more. Love more. Do the things that bring you closer to our Savior. As I've been thinking about those things I have realized that those are the things that bring me the most joy in my life. The gospel is simple and happy. I want to invite you or encourage you to keep doing the little things that bring you closer to our Savior. I promise you will find more joy in your life. I have seen it in mine.
Psalms 118:24Love you guys lots!! Have the bestest week ever!! <3
