Week 28: cats are not my friend

Heyyyy everyone! This week was a bit wild and I gotta have some fun experiences…

First off I am not a cat person and this week just put me over the edge… sorry to all you cat lovers out there. So here's the story. I got to go to Graz for an exchange and we got invited to this sweet ladies house for dinner. We walked in and I was immediately hit with the stinkiest smell ever. Picture opened cat food that I swear had to have been left out for the last 3 years and maybe even a dead cat that someone just left. Idk but oh man it was bad. And it gets worse… so I already wanna throw up from the stench alone and then we sit down for dinner. She made us sandwiches and don't get me wrong I am super grateful but I could barely get it down. They had the thickest layer of butter, mystery meat, eggs, pickles, a huge dollop of mayo, and topped off with some fun little cat hairs. No joke I probably picked off 10 cat hairs off of each sandwich and those are just the ones I could see. Anyway, not my favorite experience but made for a fun memory.

This week we met with our friend Johanna and we brought a member with us so they could get to know each other better. We all went to a park and I don't know how this happened but Sister Chandler and the member were having a conversation in English and I was left to talk to Johanna in German! It was so cool though because like 20 minutes into our conversation I realized that we were speaking German and not English and I was able to talk to just her for like 45 minutes which was so cool! I felt the need to tell her about priesthood blessings and did the best I could to explain how they can help us with what we are struggling with. She told me that she would love to have one and thought that that could help her. On Sunday we were able to make it happen and it was such a cool experience. The blessing said so many things that she struggles with and the spirit was so strong. How cool is it that we have God's power here on earth. I am so grateful that I was able to be a part of that experience and see God's hand work in the life of someone that I have grown to love so much. Please send prayers for Johanna!

Another blessing this week was while we were out on the street this man stopped us and told us he was a member of the church but that he hasn't been to church in years! He said that he has been feeling like he should go back but didn't know when and where to even start. We were able to get his information and are excited to help him come back to church!! God put us in that spot at the exact right time and it's just another example for me that he is real and he loves his children. Which means he loves YOU! Don't forget it.
