Week 26: 6 MONTHS BABY!!
Woah…. Wow…. I can't believe I hit 6 months today! Kinda crazy! These last 6 months have been the hardest but most rewarding months of my life. I have learned so much and grown so much and am so grateful for all the experiences I've had and for all the people I've met.
This week was a pretty chill week, not much to report on. We got to go to a service project on Saturday and it was so much fun! It's called Ringo for the homeless and we just grill meat and give it out. I'm basically a master griller now so if you need any tips I'm your girl. The homeless shelter we were at was an all-men shelter and so that was a little bit eventful. Sister Chandler and I went on a little adventure to the bathroom and I was honestly a little bit scared hahaha. When we walked out there was a guy standing there and idk if he was on something or if he just hadn't seen girls in a while but when he saw us he like fell against the wall and said, "Woah… wow…" and literally just kept saying it as we timidly walked past him. It was so funny and now we keep saying it and just laugh every time! It was such a good time and I loved being able to see people light up and see so many smiles. We also had a crazy fun dance party, so basically the best thing ever.
My comp told me something this week that really stuck with me. We were talking about how much comfort we find from Jesus Christ and how we just wish that everyone could feel the comfort that he gives. She said how can you find comfort in someone you don't know. I love that!! As we come to know him we will feel the comfort he gives more abundantly in our lives. Everyone needs comfort and how cool is it that as we come to know our Savior we can feel it more and more. I challenge all of you this week to make an effort to learn more about our Savior and get to know him better. I promise that as you do this he will be more present in your life. And who wouldn't want that?
He is light, he is joy, and he will give you comfort.
