Week 1: I'M A MISSIONARY

My District


Wow… I don’t even know where to start. This past week has been amazing, hard, stressful, fun, and basically all the feelings. Last Tuesday was one of my favorite days ever. I got set apart and then got to go through the temple! I was honestly nervous and scared going in to get set apart because it’s a huge step! I feel like I had been waiting for that day for so long and it was finally there and it didn’t feel real. As soon as I walked in the church all my fears and worries went away and I felt that I was exactly where I needed to be. It was such a good feeling and experience. Right after that I got to go through the temple with my family! I don’t even have the words to describe that experience. The temple is AMAZING!! I gained an even stronger testimony of temples and the covenants we get to make there. The feelings that I felt in there are indescribable. I have never felt the spirit stronger and it just made me feel so happy and comforted. I wish I could go back right now.

MTC is a grind… I don’t think I’ve ever worked and studied harder than I’m doing right now. German is so hard and they teach everything so fast. It’s been one week and we already have the missionary purpose in english and in German memorized as well as a scripture and I swear a million vocab words. Taking spanish in high school was a mistake haha I keep getting my german words mixed up with spanish and then I just get confused. Lots of hard work but I know that God is right here with me pushing me to become better. I know as I’m doing my best the Lord will make up for my shortcomings.

6:30 is way too early… I am definitely a night owl and adjusting to the missionary schedule has been a struggle for me. I’m hoping this next week it will get easier. I LOVE MY COMPANION!! Her name is sister Peterson and she is from Coolidge, Arizona. She is seriously so sweet and perfect for me. She also struggles with waking up early so we decided to do comp study at 7 so we will both wake up on time. We work super well together and can talk about anything which is so nice. She has such a strong testimony and pushes me to be better. I feel so lucky to have her as my companion.

My district is also so awesome. Last night we got together to talk about a devotional we had watched and we ended up talking for 2 and a half hours!! We talked about what we liked to do and our favorite movies and lots of other stuff. But they all started going off about star wars and I mean I like star wars but like 4 of the 8 of them had Anakin and Obi Wan’s fight completely memorized!! They were all just saying so much stuff that I didn’t understand and so in the chat I wrote nerdsss. They all stopped talking immediately and it was so funny I think I offended them a little whoops hahaha. They then changed the subject to books and again I didn’t really have any input because I’m not too big of a reader and so I commented in the chat again nerdsss and this time it was so funny because they all like asked me what I wanted to talk about. So we started talking about sports which was much better, haha. As we were talking about sports one of the elders commented in the chat nerdsss and we all just started laughing. I guess we're all nerds in our different ways but it was fun to get to know them better.

Yesterday me and my comp had our first TRC lesson which is basically a member of the church who acts like they’re not a member and we teach them. The person we got to teach was named Jess. She has been through some hard things and doesn’t feel like God cares about her or if there is even anyone there listening to her. We got to teach her about the power of prayer and praying with real intent. We also explained how God is there for her and loves her. We invited her to pray again and ask to feel God’s love and she accepted our invitation! I loved being able to teach her and really felt the spirit during our lesson.

God loves you and hears your prayers. I invite you guys this week to look for God’s hand in your life. I have seen his hand throughout this week helping me and I am so grateful I have someone who knows me and exactly how I feel and helps me through the good times and the bad.

  Servus! I hope you all had an amazing week:)) I had a wild one and it was awesome!! Also, this one's kinda long so sorry bout it.  I had a funny German whoops this week. I have them at least 5 times a day but this one made me laugh. We were at a members house and the last time we were there she gave us some coupons and so I was telling her that we used them to buy some things but instead of saying bought (gekauft) I said getauft which means baptized hahaha guess that's just what's on my mind… anyways kinda funny thought I'd share. We got to get together with our whole mission for a mission conference and it was sooo fun. I am exhausted tho and think I might need a week to recover haha. It started out with a 7-hour train ride straight into street finding. Picture this… 136 missionaries hit the streets in one of the biggest cities in Germany and give out 200+ books of Mormon. Week 39: tracting! And ET?

  Being on a mission is a roller coaster let me tell ya… some days are just the best and others ya not so much but hard things make us stronger if we let them and that is something I am grateful for.  So I basically got told yesterday that I am being ET'd in a week!!! I am so sad about it! I was almost positive I was gonna be transferred but I was expecting to at least finish out the transfer. Anyways I've basically been living here in Austria illegally for about 3 months.. I don't have any visa and they're basically gonna have to sneak me over the border so that's kinda scary… don't know what's gonna happen because I also don't have a German visa and ya it's just a big mess. Pray, I don't get deported! On Thursday we finally had a free afternoon with no appointments, so we decided to stop by some less active members. Week 11: Life is Good

  Hey y'all!! We had zone conference this week and oh man it was too good. We talked a lot about giving it our all out here on the mission. We only get this experience once and so we need to give it 100%. I loved hearing all of the missionaries talk about their experiences and it made me remotivated to keep working hard and doing my best every day! We also had exchanges this week which was super fun! I got to go to Madison Mississippi for a day! They actually have stores and restaurants and stuff… very different than our small town here in Mendenhall.  Kinda a silly story for y'all… we were walking to a member's house and this boy was walking right behind us and slowly caught up to us and so we said hi and he had a very thick accent so we didn't really know what he was saying.
